The Beaufort High Boys hosted the Sharks of May River on Wednesday night and had had to battle through a scoreless spurt in the second quarter as they couldn’t buy a basket. But the Eagles were more than game on the defensive end of the floor and on the boards as they overcame that cold shooting streak to ice May River 57-45. James Dennison led Beaufort with a double-double as he scored 13 points to go along with 13 rebounds and 4 steals. Oli Holmes and Rush Riley each had a solid game with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Daniel Phares and Zyrin Odom both chipped in with 8 points. For the season the Eagles are 7-4 overall and 5-4 in the region. Next up is the first round of the Region Tournament on Friday evening. Beaufort will host Bluffton on Friday night (2/12) at 7:30.
